THE STORY

From Anatolia, this old earthenware jar was made for the practical rhythms of a household, with two generous handles for lifting it from place to place. The clay has aged into a mottled mix of brown and deeper, charcoal tones. We’d place it on a console or entry table with a few branches, for a moodier “where did you get that” statement.
