This old Anatolian jar was made for storing the things a household needed close at hand. We’re taken with its shape: a wide, generous body, a narrow neck, and two handles perched high on the shoulders. The clay has weathered into shades of sand and faded terracotta, with darker marks gathered near the foot. We’d place it beside a sofa with a few branches from the garden and let everyone assume it’s been in the family for years.
