Originally used as a wine vessel in Turkey, this antique şarap immediately stood apart from anything we’ve sourced before. The pointed handmade details at the base of each handle and the single applied lug on the front are features we’ve never encountered on another vessel, giving it a completely distinctive silhouette.
It’s these small details paired with a beautifully timeworn surface and rich patina that made this one an immediate add to collection.
Please note this exceptionally old vessel has a beautifully worn surface that reflects its age and history. It stands securely on its own but is ever so slightly unlevel, as is often the case with antique handmade pottery.
