Once used to store olives, this old terracotta jar has since been reimagined with a brown textured painted surface by an artisan in Anatolia. Its wide mouth, generous shoulders, and tapered base are all still there, but the deep brown finish and pale, sweeping marks give it a character of its own. We especially love the arched belting on the front. Set it beside a chair with branches spilling well beyond the rim, and the whole corner becomes a statement.
