THE STORY
A little blue, a little imperfect, and all the lovelier for it. This rare antique Fajalauza lebrillo comes from Granada, Spain, where potters have been making this distinctive earthenware for centuries. Made for everyday tasks like preparing food, lebrillos brought a little beauty to the ordinary.
A loose floral motif fills the center, framed by deep blue glaze that softens into a creamy ground. Along its uneven rim, worn edges reveal the warm terracotta beneath.
We imagine it tucked into an old kitchen dresser or resting on a stack of well-loved books, its painted flower left in view.
A note for the collector: Chips along the rim, glaze wear & crazing are all present, showcasing the long working life this bowl has had.
