Details
A traditional Bayburt pot, rooted in the pottery traditions of northeastern Anatolia dating back to the BC era.
This piece is defined by its wide, grounded body and its hallmark surface: finished in a deeply burnished black clay achieved through traditional firing techniques that create a smoky, almost metallic depth. The texture is what sets Bayburt pottery apart: burnished with subtle shifts in sheen. They feel both ancient and timeless, a combination that makes this a favorite in our collection.
Please note that this is an authentic antique. An age-related surface crack is present on the bottom of the vessel. This does not affect the vessel’s structural integrity and is consistent with its age. We believe these imperfections are part of its history, and what makes it truly beautiful.
